TRUST & SAFETY

A clearer decision starts with knowing what to ask.

Looking for more affordable dental care does not mean quality and safety matter any less.

Whether you are considering veneers, All-on-4 or All-on-6, you deserve clear information about the proposed treatment, the people providing it, the complete cost and what happens afterwards. CarePathway offers questions and planning tools to help you make a more informed decision.

There is no pressure to book. Taking more time, seeking another opinion or deciding not to proceed are all valid outcomes.

OUR ROLE

What CarePathway does — and what it does not

CarePathway provides general information, comparison checklists and planning tools for people considering dental treatment. A provider appearing here is not a guarantee of quality or an endorsement of a treatment plan.

We do not diagnose dental conditions, assess suitability, recommend a procedure for your circumstances, provide treatment or emergency care, or guarantee a clinic’s standards, a treatment outcome or a saving. An online assessment or smile preview cannot replace an examination, personalised advice and informed consent with your treating clinician.

TREATMENT PATHWAYS

Two treatments. Two different sets of questions.

Considering veneers?

Start with your goals, not a fixed number of veneers. Ask a qualified dentist whether a less invasive approach could meet those goals.

  • ✓Why are veneers proposed rather than a less invasive option?
  • ✓Which teeth would be treated, and would natural tooth structure be removed?
  • ✓What material is proposed, and what are its limitations?
  • ✓How will my bite, gums and existing dental work be assessed?
  • ✓What maintenance, repair or replacement might be needed?
  • ✓What happens if I am unhappy with the appearance or develop problems?

A visual preview can help communicate preferences. It cannot establish suitability or show exactly how finished teeth will look.

Considering All-on-4 or All-on-6?

Start with a complete plan, not a package label. Ask why the proposed approach fits your circumstances and what alternatives were considered.

  • ✓Is the plan for the upper arch, lower arch or both?
  • ✓Which teeth would be removed or retained, and why?
  • ✓Why are four or six implants proposed for me?
  • ✓Which implant system and components would be used?
  • ✓Are temporary teeth and the final restoration both included?
  • ✓What happens if the plan changes after an examination or during treatment?
  • ✓What follow-up, cleaning and maintenance will be needed?
  • ✓Who can help if a problem occurs afterwards?

The implant count alone is not a basis for choosing a treatment. A qualified clinician needs to explain the plan after assessing you.

QUOTE CHECKLIST

Look beyond the headline price

An affordable quote should still be a clear quote. Ask for an itemised written plan showing what is included, excluded and still uncertain. Compare the same scope of treatment across options.

  • ✓Consultations, CBCT scans and other assessments
  • ✓Extractions or additional procedures
  • ✓Anaesthesia or sedation
  • ✓Materials, implant components and laboratory work
  • ✓Temporary and final restorations
  • ✓Adjustments, follow-up, repairs and ongoing maintenance
  • ✓Changes to the plan after an in-person assessment

Ask what happens to a deposit or payment if you decide not to proceed, are found unsuitable or need a different plan. Do not rely on a headline saving until you know what is being compared.

PROVIDER CHECKS

Ask for evidence, not just reassurance

Before committing, ask for the treating clinician’s name, registration and qualifications; the clinic’s address and contact details; the proposed materials or implant system; a written plan with alternatives; follow-up arrangements; complaints terms; and a list of records you will receive.

If something is called “verified,” “approved” or “guaranteed,” ask who assessed it and what evidence supports the claim. Reviews and photographs can inform your research, but they cannot replace these checks.

YOUR DECISION

Give yourself permission to pause

You do not need to make a major dental decision during a sales call or consultation. Pause and seek clarification or another opinion if any of these occur:

  • ✓You feel pressured to pay or begin treatment immediately.
  • ✓You cannot obtain a clear written plan or confirm who will treat you.
  • ✓Questions about risks or alternatives go unanswered.
  • ✓Treatment is described as risk-free or the result as certain.
  • ✓You are discouraged from getting another opinion.
  • ✓The proposed plan changes substantially without a clear explanation.
  • ✓You do not understand the aftercare arrangements or financial terms.

You should be able to ask questions without feeling difficult, embarrassed or rushed. A decision not to proceed is still an informed decision.

AFTERCARE & RECORDS

Plan for what happens afterwards

Before committing, ask who to contact during recovery, what support is available outside normal hours, which follow-up appointments are expected and who pays for adjustments or complications. Ask your local dentist what follow-up they may be able to provide; do not assume they have agreed to maintain or repair work without discussing it.

Agree on the records you will receive: assessments, scans, written plans, consent documents, invoices and treatment summaries. For implants, ask for manufacturer, system, component and laboratory details. Keep copies that future clinicians can access.

SMILE PREVIEW

Understand the limits of a visual preview

The CarePathway smile preview is a simulated visual aid for exploring appearance preferences. It cannot diagnose a condition, assess suitability, recommend treatment or predict a clinical result. It does not assess oral health, bite or tooth structure. Use it to describe what you like, then discuss treatment choices with a qualified dentist.

PRIVACY & COMMERCIAL CLARITY

Know how information and listings are used

Photos used in the current smile preview are processed in your browser and are not uploaded to CarePathway. Avoid sending sensitive dental records, medical information or identity documents through a general contact channel without understanding why they are requested and how they will be handled.

Before relying on a provider listing or introduction, ask whether any referral fee, paid placement or other commercial relationship applies. Such a relationship is not evidence of clinical quality or a reason to choose a particular treatment.

URGENT CONCERNS

Need urgent help?

CarePathway is not an emergency service. If you need urgent dental or medical attention, contact an appropriate local healthcare service. For a medical emergency, contact the emergency services where you are.

Your next step can be a question, not a booking.

Choose a pathway to organise your questions, understand what a complete quote should explain and prepare for a conversation with a qualified dentist.
